Royal Mail is doing everything possible to continue to deliver the mail to the affected areas, but access is no longer possible to some addresses. We understand that this must be a very difficult time for affected customers. With immediate effect and until further notice, we will waive the charge for new 3 month Redirections requested by customers in flood affected areas. If any of your constituents fall into this category, the following details on options available may be helpful:
CUSTOMERS CAN COLLECT MAIL
Customers can collect their mail from their local delivery office, remembering to provide relevant identification. There will be no cost for this facility.
WE WILL REDIRECT FREE OF CHARGE
If customers are moving out of the area and want their mail to move with them, we can provide a 3 month Redirection free of charge, for telephone applications only. Customers should call 08457 777888 and request a Free Redirection.
In order to protect the security of our customers’ mail against potential fraud, we will need to process a payment from a card registered to the address mail is being redirected from. However, we will immediately refund the customer and this will be visible in accounts within 3 – 5 working days.
